The
e-Newsletter on genetic laboratory services aims at disseminating timely and
relevant information in this area to all stakeholders. Published on a
monthly basis, the newsletter gives content about relevant events for health
services professionals and decision-makers; up to date publications about
genetic laboratory services for researchers and health professionals; Web sites
providing content on specific themes. Finally, a part of the bulletin is
dedicated for the members to share with the community any interesting
information regarding the field.
The bulletin is produced by GLS Réseaux, a Québec City-based
consulting firm which provides organizations with research, strategic
intelligence and knowledge management services and is reviewed by members and
partners of CanGèneTest. First, using electronic tools, we scan web sites
related to genetic laboratory services from which we are extracting relevant,
up to date information. The information is then evaluated by members of
CanGèneTest for their relevance to the field. Some keywords, allowing for
recognition in the bibliographic database, are then put with the news. Finally
between 12 and 15 items, the most relevant, are selected for inclusion in the
e-Newsletter. The remaining ones are also added to the bibliographic database.
